Montana Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony

May 15th, 2017
Havre, Montana

Every day across the country, from our largest cities to our quietest crossroads, peace officers stand watch over our citizens, selflessly risking their lives to protect individuals, families, neighborhoods, and property against crime.

Each year, we salute these men and women for their courage, commitment, and service. We take the opportunity to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty.

In 1962 Congress authorized and requested the President designate May 15 of each year as "Peace Officer's Memorial Day" and that week as "Police Week."

In order to allow for optimal attendance and an honorary parade, The Havre Police Department is holding this event on May 15th 2017. We are holding an honorary Cortege/Parade beginning at the Holiday Village Mall, 1753 US Hwy 2 with a parade time starting at 11:30 AM and concluding with a ceremony at the Havre High School Gym, 900 18th Street, beginning at 12:30 PM.

I extend to you an invitation to attend this ceremony and parade. If you plan to attend, please contact Asst. Chief Jason Barkus at or call 406-265-4361. If you wish to participate in the parade, please indicate this in your response with how many vehicles will be participating or if you plan to walk the parade route so we can plan accordingly.

Havre is a very busy town and hotel rooms are limited. We urge you to make reservations as soon as possible. Should you wish to stay in Havre, a block of rooms has been reserved at Best Western Havre Inn and Suites under the MT Law Enforcement Memorial. We look forward to your participation or attendance at this important event.
